THE SWEET AND GREEN “WAAS”-COUNTRY
Would you like to explore the area with one of our ambassadors ? Mercator, born in Rupelmonde or our legendary Reynaert De vos, or with a Wase balloonist, they surely would like to tag you along to experience our beautiful country. Whether you fancy a resto-walk for gastronomists in the center of Sint-Niklaas, you like sports or walking along the water line of the “Ster”, a nice shopping day, biking via the widespread bike-pads through the Flemish fields and polders; Enjoying the view from the dike looking over the Schelde/Durme in Tielrode, getting to know the “abroad” – area which is lying just over the Temse-bridge which was originally built by Eiffel indeed the same one who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris ! Or in the other direction visiting the Stekene “poacher”-woods who were a very significant area in the past wars getting things smuggled over the Holland/Belgian border or following a Husky trail in Moerbeke, Sint-Niklaas is indeed THE IDEAL CITY to get to know our Sweet and Green “Waas”- country in all his glory !
THE BIGGEST MARKET SQUARE IN BELGIUM !
Is just behind the corner and surely worthwhile to visit with the impressive and very beautiful Onze-Lieve-Vrouw church decorating its area with all her beauty ! Thursday is our weekly market-day offering nice and traditional quality products. Art and Culture : you can have it all in Sint-Niklaas ! Do you want to get to know more about events, musea, concerts etc… check www.sint-niklaas.be
